Readers of the blog over the last few weeks will have noticed that I’ve alluded to having learnt something that required some major changes to the site. I’ve already spoken about this on social media but wanted to wait till I’ve had chance to sit down and write it properly before going into details here.
First up, before I get into the rather nasty details, I want to give a big “Thank you” to James Marsh on Twitter, who designed the new site banner at very short notice, but still came up with something that’s great and reflects the content I’ll be covering for the next few years. Hire him for all your art needs. Before going further, I’m going to put a content warning here as it’s a subject people will not expect to have come up here: What follows includes mention of child abuse. First things first, youy'll note the website has a new banner. Based around the fact I'm mostly going to be talking about IDW comics for the next few years, it represents the three ages of Megatron in their original continuity and is by the amazing James Marsh. go hire him. I'll be talking about why the new look in a post during the week when I have chance to sit down and write about what occured in full, but Twitter and Facebook followers will already know. Back in 2006, it's War Within 1.2 as Simon Furman and Don Figueroa reunite to try and please the fans with an apocalypse in my look at Stormbringer Issue 1! This week, it's the conclusion of the opening miniseries as Starscream's coup falls apart nearly as quickly as he does. All in my look at Infiltration issue 6! I've also discovered something that will result in a redesign of the site fairly soon. I'll talk about the why when it happens (though for those of you on Twitter, I'll make a statement on the day of this post). Which sounds ominous, and to an extent it is, but I'll explain more at the appropriate moment. Remember that time Mark Twain was on the Enterprise and there was an emotionless robot? Well, you sure will after reading my look at Hearts of Steel issue 1! Plus, a bonus quick overview of how IDW were milking the cow with Transformers Generations. |
