First I look at the fourth film in the series, with the single most controversial scene of any of them, Age of Extinction!
And then it's back to the comic and the final Robin Etherington strip, in Thousand Island Fight!

![]() It's a double bill of Transformers action this week. First I look at the fourth film in the series, with the single most controversial scene of any of them, Age of Extinction! And then it's back to the comic and the final Robin Etherington strip, in Thousand Island Fight!

AoE was going great guns, (uncomfortable statute law scene aside) until "LETS ALL GO TO CHINA!!!!" Then it's into "When will it end?" territory for me that not even the Dinobots can save. I'll take Vanessa Peltz's acting over Huntington-Whiteley's anyday, too. I thought she was pretty good in an utterly thankless role, playing the competent child next to her angry and over-protective dad, with his guilt issues over the death of her mother. I think they were playing the 'I'm doing this for your own good', angle, but this being a Transformers film, all those scenes just come across as spiteful, childish bickering, making you think less (or even the worst) about these characters than was probably intended.
