Yay Animated! I love this show so much. It's just great fun and has a nice overall arc. I couldn't give you a list of 'best episodes', as I'm rubbish with names, but the one with Black Arachnia's origin, the sad sad story of Arcee and Ratchet, plus the secret of the Ark and what it actually is are all highlights for me. I love that it feels as fresh as Beast Wars did - introducing a fully rounded universe that we learn more and more about.

The Autobot command structure is interesting, with Magnus, rather than Prime being the leaderly name. Oh, and Sentinel Prime is a fantastic blow hard and his interactions with the Autobots under his command and the Optimus' crew are a joy.

Crikey, I'm gushing, but it really is a great, fun show. The animation style means its aged well too. It's definitely the best modern Transformers show. I liked Prime, but it could be a little too po-faced for its own good.

As for Kaye's Prime, he wasn't a blue collar worker like Bulkhead - he was a cadet in the Autobot army and was an officer with troops under his command. His excursion with Sentinel that saw the loss of Elita-1 saw him stripped of his command by Ultra Magnus, although he was allowed to keep the 'Prime' suffix. So him sounding less gruff is fine, to my ears. I really feel for the guy, even when he's trying to explain to his superiors - and especially Sentinel- he's frequently shouted down and ignored.

Did you ever pick up the IDW limited series? It was good, but relied very heavily on an understanding of the events of the cartoon .

As for the UK comic, it was nice and lively and it's a shame it failed and had to be rolled into the main monthly comic (although that did at least mean we got a couple of months of lots of original material). I never got the screen cap reprint thing either. Especially when fairly regular (and affordable) DVD releases were available (and collected all of seasons 1 & 2 for the UK).
