TRANSFORMATION 54: Special Needs.

What better way to kick off the second year of this blog than by having a big party? With music by Bruce Springsteen (or whatever the copyright dodging substitute version is called this week) and party games such as advanced sign reading to keep the kids entertained.

so ya thought ya might like to go to the show ?

ahem

ive been listening to the wall

and this is officially where this story goes tits up
its as if budiansky knew the comic would be split up in the uk and decided to make the firsthalf the better part

its ist a cartoon plot it belongs more in the cartoon then the comic and its dreadfully silly the small bits of personality added to the new autobots not withstanding

and lets not even go in to how the ark was able to build 5 whole new transformers ( and grappel is able to build omega supreme later on and the aerial bots )
yet ratchet is having trouble keeping up with the wounded and activated

maybe thats exactly why he is having trouble because after the new autobots and the supreme project he is scrambeling for parts but this is never made clear

pity because it would have explained a few things

anyway i dont have much to say about the current comic and even though this is at least two years in to the future

but i never minded the space hikers and i certainly dont hate them as much as some people do

and i rather like jose delbo's art ( its more alive then perlin or springers art surley )

i also never liked senior's blocky USA art though the hideous crayong colors from yomtov certainly did not help much in that regard either
seniors art took a huge step back in the US comics compared to his UK output where it is indeed glorious

i am btw thinking of kotting down a quick translated transcribe for the sticker album if anybody is interested in that

That would certainly be awesome if you find the time.

It's been so long since I read the Space Hikers stuff I'm going to be interested to revisit that slightly odd era to see how well it works as insane fluff.

If all Shockwave was stealing was excess volume, it would be fine, but the story seems to be saying that Shockwave’s siphon was actually causing the music to get worse!

I don’t mind shadowy government agencies being used seriously. It’s a trope that never gets old, for me. I’m not a big Furman fan but I’m even less of a Bay fan.

It sounds like when Furman had to be told to include the latest characters he got upset because he couldn’t just keep focusing on his pet characters like Grimlock.

Some of those Marvel-office-in-1985 in-jokes I only got as an adult.
