Great stuff, as always! I love that the badass Soundwave of the letters page is finally coming to the fore in the comics themselves. In this story and in the 2nd Generation arc, he's the absolute daddy!

Yeah, the image of the dead people in the bayou with blood mingling with the water was very harsh. It didn't bother me at the time, but doesn't that go against the 'Comics Code'?

It made the Decepticons seem incredibly dangerous as a result; Soundwave, skywarp and Scavenger seeming particularly sinister.

the code ( cca) was an american only body
marvel uk was more or less free to do what it wanted as a result

the cca is dead btw
by 2010 only 3 publishers still carried the cca seal
bongo comics dc and archie
bongo pulled away in 2010
dc and archie in 2011 leaving the cca dead

The hood/informer in Iron Man is Turk Barrett, who's since achieved a bit of notoriety by appearing in almost all the Marvel Netflix shows.
