This week, it's the last calm before the storm. Will the alliance hold? Is Kup's eyesight better than God's? Where can you buy a Unicron hat?

Find out all this and more in my look at THE VOID! PART 2!

For all the criticism of Furman's later stories creating a total continuity minefield, he's actually been quite good at keep Galvatron on the sidelines and making things sufficiently ambiguous that other Transformers don't stop to comment on whether he's new to them or someone they've met before.

As for the cult, maybe Primus was lying. Maybe Primus himself set-up the group as part of his scheme to fuse the alliance together. It would be completely in line with his other actions in this story.

Yeah, I think there's only one line where a character who definately should know him says otherwise. It comes this close to pulling it off!

The only line I can think of is Scorponok in the middle of battle and he could just not have seen from a distance who the Transformer making a solo attack on Unicron was.

To be honest Tim, I came to the same conclusion - there's too much in continuity to say Unicron even knew about Transformers, so no way he seeded agents. Xaarimus has to be lying and if he isn't as 'conned' as we think, maybe he dupes these 'Unicron Agents' into being the catalyst to united the races.

It's worth noting that although Unicron is undoubtedly evil, he and Primus are Chaos vs. Order, Dark vs. Light. I'm sure some character equates them to good and evil but in theory, Order can be as corruptive as Chaos just as Chaos can have good of Order.

I would have liked it if the Unicorn Hats were just a mopey religious cult that had sprung up on Cybertron.

It is amusing we've gone from "No one has heard of Unicron" through "These are half forgotten myths and legends" to "There's a thriving Unicron hat industry" in four years.

I like the Unicron cult part of the story, so this is a welcome break from the things I don’t like in this home stretch of issues from Simon Furman. Also I must say that while I don’t like the wet, messy stylism of his art, Andrew Wildman does have some pretty solid fundamentals and maybe with a different inker, such as Dave Hunt, I might have gotten into his pencils on “Transformers” instead of waiting until “GI Joe.” That’s some quality Cybertron drawing in that “—did you miss that?!” splash page down at the bottom.

Of course, it’ll be nice to see one last issue from Geoff Senior, too!

IIRC the answer to Kup’s question is (spoiler) that Unicron shut down his mind and drifted for the last leg of his journey to Cybertron, but that still leaves the question of how Primus missed it when Unicron woke up again, as he would have had to do to be standing over the planet about to claw it! Distracted by the cult, maybe?
