With only a year to go on this project, we're really hitting the endgame now. Unlike the the G.I. Joe crossover which has more game than end.

Also this week, Slag goes crrrrrrrrraaazzzzyyyyyy and Optimus Prime is The Queen.

It's all in my look at ISSUE 280!

Schadenfreude...

As a fan of Action Force/GI Joe, who has endured your many dismissals of that fine comic, somehow your suffering makes me smile.

I'm sorry. I'm not proud. But it is so.

Love the Earthforce story. And I've always been a fan of the deeply underrated Jeff Anderson, so it's always nice to see him in action. I'm also glad to see Earthforce being enjoyed a lot more than might have been anticipated. I'm very fond of it, but as I've said before, that might be because I came to it after the event, when we got those 'digest' books from Titan.

Dear Lord I think I just stopped reading the crossover altogether. Why were 2 combiners fighting?
What are the ethics here, could Marvel UK have chopped some splash pages or panels to make it a bit shorter? I suppose the length was fine by them as they were just trying to get a comic, any comic, out each week.
I never ever rated Jeff Anderson. I never saw anything by him that I genuinely didn't feel I could have had a decent crack at drawing myself. Geoff Senior, Andy Wildman (for Marvel US, when it was clearly in his career interests to be at his best), Lee Sullivan - these guys drew some incredible stuff, humbling and worth savouring.

Thats kinda uncharitable towards Anderson.
His art could be stiff at times, but if he was anything his art was workman like and he knew how to compoistion a page and layout.
Which is a lot more, then can be said for a lot of other artists.

Nor is his art as rubbery, filled with water like Dan Reed's
or crushed by deadlines Manny Galan.

...all comment on this weeks strips has been over-ridden by that Milky Way advert which has started re-running in my mind. So thanks for that. All together now:

The red car and the blue car had a race
but all red wants to do is stuff his face
he eats everything he sees
from trucks to prickly trees
but smart old blue he took the Milky Way

(pretty sure there was another verse when this ad originally ran, but I can't remember that)

Wouldn't get away with an advert like that now. Jamie Oliver would start a campaign and it'd get banned for directly appealing to children. Sadly for Mars, the ubiquity of this advert actually had the opposite effect and put me off 'the snack you can eat between meals without ruining your appetite'.

Oh no the bridge is gone,
Old red can't carry on

But smart old blue he chose the Milky Way.

Actually, I was more of a 'satellite and meteor' man myself.

I feel the cover fully illustrates how every reader felt upon learning the GI JOE V TF crossover still had one more issue to go.

Minor proofreading note: it looks like you’ve listed the title as “…Ashes to Ashes! Part 4” in place of “…All Fall Down! Part 4.”
