Someone is out to get Megatron, luckily he has Soundwave on the case.

Unluckily Soundwave is the one out to get him.

Plus, Omega Supreme is supreme one last time!

All in my look at ISSUE 275!

And you can also watch my TFNation 2017 thoughts below.

Wildrider appears in A to Z in #290 - I wonder if Furman saw the profiles being prepared and that's how he ended up in this strip?

I would be much happier in life if I could just FRADOOOM! at the bits that aren't working for me.

At the time I was a bit annoyed about this issue as I'd only recently purchased Wildrider - the Stunticons were the only Decepticons in that year's Classic rereleases. How often has a current on sale toy been killed off?

IIRC it was the summer of 1989 that I found a small out-of-the-way toy shop in La Jolla, California where I was able to get Perceptor and Onslaught. That was a good find.

Great to see Bombshell get his comeuppance after both what he did to Anthony and also trying to cerebro-shell Optimus Prime.

Having imprinted on the cartoon primarily, and liking Soundwave as much as I do, I never like to see Soundwave written too accurately to his profile, in which he’s a blackmailing, backstabbing, unpopular bastard. But I’m glad he survived this issue.

I vaguely remember Flint’s outrage at being treated like he’s the asshole for being hurt that his friends made him think they were dead. And then the punch from Lady Jaye. Oh well. Maybe they’re like Klingons and that’s just normal in their relationship.

Cobra selling Terrordromes around the world was interesting, but the made-up Eastern European countries weren’t, especially Wolkekuckuckland. Which is unfortunate because there was some good Tony Salmons art during this period.

Three years after the fact:

Isn't Breakdown the paranoid one and Wildrider the psychotic one ?
This story always truck me as odd.
Because Wildrider is generally a lunatic and not paranoid.

Wildrider's TF Universe entry includes this:

"Weaknesses: Wildrider fears quiet. He suspects enemies are lurking, ready to pounce on him, if all he hears are the sounds he produces himself. This gets him very nervous and hampers his effectiveness."

whereas Breakdown has this:

"Profile: When Breakdown is in his car mode, he thinks everyone else is staring at him. Not just living creatures such as other Transformers and humans, but humans' cars, stoplights... anything mechanical. ... The root of his concerns is that someone will see him for what he really is - an alien on a strange world. Despite his earthly disguise, Breakdown is constantly aware that underneath the hood he is different, and the thought haunts him."

It's two difference versions of paranoia - one is self-conscious of what he is whilst the other is fearful of those around him. I'm not sure if other portrayals of the Stunticons have brought these traits out - Marvel didn't actually do much character work with the four cars outside of this story.

So as Volume 6 of IDW's UK classic series has been cancelled, I wonder if those Space Pirates notes will get published anywhere else. Because I am fascinated as to what they might say and would pay money to find out.
