This week, Nightbeat cracks the case but gets fails to look behind him.

Plus, Devastator returns...

kind of.

All this and Combat Clod in my look at ISSUE 264!

The next week box should just have been a text box stating: THE NIGHTMARE BEGINS.

SPECIAL TEAMS!

The "one of us is lying" logic puzzle predates Pyramids of Mars by a long way! The proper name for it is "knights and knaves". It was also used in Labyrinth!

Aye, the non-combining Constructicons weren't released until 1992 as part of the first year of European exclusive Transformers, or G1.5, if you must. 'Desert Island Risks' is just one of the weakest Transformers stories full stop, let alone Earthforce. It's been more interesting pondering why the Decepticons would want to build a standalone version of plodding gestalt Devastator. With most of the gestalts being utter liabilities, I can only think that these things were put into battle to sow terror and keep their enemies busy whilst they went after...whatever..

Couldn't get into this bit of Matrix Quest, tbh, despite Geoff Senior's best efforts. I'm just not that into old noir films, so all the references have sailed over my head. Plus, I've no real love for Nightbeat and Co, so it all falls a bit flat for me.

Well this unfortunately mark the end of me collecting the comic

I remember being really upset that out of all the stories this one came out of nowhere, why could the constructercons no longer form devastator

why is he half build on an island

I had been collecting from issue 1 and never missed an issue but this marked the end until the early 2000's when in Waterstones the first reprints appeared and I now have every issue

I have started re reading these again after reading this website and enjoying Stuarts musings however behind I am

So thank you for that Stuart

Heroes never do watch their backs, do they? It makes it easier for lazy writers to do a reversal and have them get captured.

Two more “Maltese Falcons” through which I absorbed the movie by cultural osmosis: the “Harry Canyon” segment of “Heavy Metal” (1981) with the obese Rudnick in the Greenstreet role and the Loc-Nar as the bird (though as the opposite of a font of life), and the “Maltese Hamster” episode of “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” (1987) with Donatello as Bogart. (Or is that “B’ghart”?)

I’ve always liked to believe that if Gutt had the fortitude to stick around he would have found that as the energy from the shrine washed over him he too was redeemed and beautified. Perhaps the burning sensation was the just the burning away of his sins.

Miss Fatale must be a giant if the Headmasters’ heads are Nebulans which are the same size as Earth humans. She could get respect on Femax.

Did those yellow G2 Constructions not combine?

Ooh, I know this one. The doctor is the accident victim’s mother.
