This week, it's the billion dollar film stars before they even had films as Transformers returns to Marvel comics for the first time since the 1990s.

With results that make it the last time.

Not a lot to say about this one, since my memories of reading this first time round are so bad that I can't be bothered to go and dig it out of my box of comics to read. Your write-up, on the other hand, was a lot more entertaining to read - more so than the actual comic, and I very much enjoyed the gag at the start. So if this miniseries can be applauded for anything, then it's for giving you that set up to create something that was actually entertaining. Unlike the miniseries itself.

Spider-Man is married and around 30 when this comic was published.

When he was a teenager he refused Avengers membership.

Well, it's definitely not canon in Marvel. They've given this a universal designation that isn't 616 which I assume is for IDW 2005 TFs as a whole.

Dr. Doom wasn't active when the New Avengers were formed and this isn't, seemingly, a Doombot. Additionally at no point were Ms. Marvel nor Falcon part of the New Avengers before Civil War, during the period where this must be set. Sentry can be missing if this is set before he or Echo join the team...

I can't remember "Spider-Woman" being in this comic. Is she there? If not, she's an important character missing for no reason as she makes more sense than Ms. Marvel to be here. But "Jessica" was indeed part of the New Avengers at that time.

Carol Blandvers isn't as powerful yet as either her movie version or her future Captain Plank version so that explains that. And Pete isn't technically a teenager at this point but Marvel often forgets that too so nobody can be blamed for not knowing.

It's also worth noting, if this is canon to IDW, and I can't see why it isn't, then eventually, Megatron is going to legitimately kill the Avengers -- All Hail Megatron would see to that.

I do think it's a shame that none of Marvel's crossover issues are considered canon. I'd love for Badrock / Spider-Man, Superman vs. Spider-Man, Batman vs. Spider-Man and Punisher vs. Batman to be totally in continuity... Often licensing stops companies making money and it's frustrating to say the least.
