![]() This week, Orion Pax is on a special mission from his good friend Zeta Prime in the aftermath of the most exciting and epic Transformers story you'll never read. Plus, we start on a dark path and Nightbeat finds the oldest Autobot Trion his patience, all in my look at Spotlight Orion Pax! ![]() This week, a bunch of rioters marching in the capitol in January? What science fiction. Because they have no respect for the dodgy politician trying to take charge of them. All this and goblin Arcee in my iook at Robots in Disguise issue 12! ![]() This week, Pax commits the perfect crime with only a few Glitches, Red Alert gets fridged and Windcharger has someone remember he exists. All in my look at the conclusion to Shadowplay! ![]() This week, Prowl keeps trying to drop a Bombshell without anyone noticing, and the Decepticon Rep Theatre put on their latest masterwork, all as Omega Supreme finds out what happens when you sit on the fence politically. All as I look at Robots in Disguise issue 11! ![]() As promised... I've returned! So, no more preamble, (apart from to point out the new dedicated Bluesky for Revisitation again), I'm diving right into my look at Shadowplay Part 2! Hello folks, long time no see.
After what has been an unplanned long break, Revisitation will finally return on the first Sunday of 2025, picking up where we left off, a little leaner and meaner, and hopefully more focused after getting a little burnt out there. For those who’ve escaped Twitter, I’ve not only set up shop on Bluesky, I’ve created a dedicated account for this project (complete with avatar by QPrime), so save those with no interest having to wade through hundreds of Kamen Rider thoughts, which can be found HERE. With only a few issues left in 2012, there’s some exciting and interesting stuff to look at, so hopefully the journey will resume now without too many speedbumps. ![]() First up, a quick piece of housekeeping for people that don’t follow me on social media: Because writing Revisitation is so time consuming and difficult (and whilst my break for TFN was planned, you’ll have noticed it doesn’t take much to knock me off-course and create an unplanned gap), I’ve decided that, once I’ve reached the end of 2012 in six weeks, I’m going to take a proper season break for the rest of the year. The plan is then to come back in January 2025 with 2013 and a whole new fresh energy, and hopefully making things a bit punchier and shorter (because I still feel I’m badly over-writing them) without losing my free-form nonsense. Now onto the real purpose of this piece though, something that probably would have been a Twitter thread a year ago, but now all the people I’m going to mention are so spread over different platforms, it’s easier to have one central post to link to. I’ve just returned from the 40th anniversary of Transformers, TFNation convention. I’ve been going to the Birmingham TF Convention for 21 years, 19 cons, two convention names and my seventh specific TFN. So, at this point, I’m probably the worst person for someone thinking of going for the first time to ask about what it’s like. Because the convention is an incredibly well-oiled machine, with Billy, David, and the entire team have such experience now, even a con that was basically at the limit of how many attendees it could have without becoming uncomfortable, flowed well. The panels were great, the dealer room was amazing (though I suppose if I did have one big piece of advice, now there are so many dealers, shop around. My two big Transformers purchase were both considerably cheaper on the second stall I saw them on, holding back saved me a lot of money), the convention part of the convention is as good as it’s possible to be. ![]() This week, it's back and forth through the histroy of a very confused planet, as Orion Pax is bludgeoned over the head with some gloating, Wheelie loses a friend but gains a zoo and Viewfinder finds the view of his own future distressing. All in my look at Robots in Disguise issue 10! Which I probably should have moved all the paragraphs out of order on, I've only just realised as I'm writing this. Oh well... ![]() In what turns out to be a strong weekend for writing about political assassinations, it's my look at the time everyone played Jackanory in order to save Rung's brain in my look at Shadowplay Part 1! |
