Happy birthday to the Solar Pool!

Yes, ten years ago today, the first post on the site went up. It was pretty ragbag that first year, but once I hit on Transformation, I never looked back. Thank you to everyone who has read along the way.

Ragbag is also the word to describe the conclusion to IDW's second main miniseries, but there's still fun to be had with teddy bear humans, panto Prime and a new Nemesis in my look at Escalation issue 6!

10 years! Bloody well done, Stuart, that’s insane! And no sign of letting up - you’re an absolute national treasure.

Here’s to the next ten years!

I'd be out sooner if I'd done a murder.

Congrats on the anniversary. I'm about ten pages shy of finishing Transformation Volume 2. Hopefully Volume 3 won't go the way of IDW's TFUK Classics line. Still bitter about that one.

Fear not Ian. Volume 3 is all written and in the hands of the editor. It's only drawn out at this point because we're all having a rough year, but it's a coming.

And thanks for reading.

Excellent news, Stuart. 2020 was indeed a pig of a year, so I quite understand any delays that might have arisen. You can be assured I'll be buying a copy as soon as it's out. Thanks for replying.

Given the comments above I feel like I should also congratulate you on the ten years, but since I'm coming to this late the time has passed.

No, wait. That's even more reason to do so.

Congratulations on your first decade, and here's to the next, IDW-filled decade!

As to this issue, it's a good conclusion to this miniseries, and Prime's method of survival is clever (and very much appreciated given how much of a deep lore dive it is) (yes, I am a nerd). Su's artwork is fantastic as ever, and it leaves things nicely set up for the next series. The only wrinkle is, of course, the multiple endings, of which only one would really be needed.

At the time I really liked the Sunstreaker Headmaster tease. And I still do, actually. But at the time, with no particular toyline to support, I was really quite excited that Furman was going to eschew the standard Headmaster origin stories and do something that was different to the point of making the first Headmaster (that we knew of) be a character that had never been a Headmaster before; this would of course come to be a common occurance in later years, but here it was new (and yes, I'm still disappointed that there was never a Titans Return Sunstreaker toy). So this definitely left me wanting to find out more of where the story was going. More so than the Reapers, which, as we've said before... eh.

But overall, yeah, a solid conclusion to a great little miniseries, Now to see how the others stand up. *checks what's next* Ah. That. Yes.
