This week, it's rhyme time as Rodimus crashes on a planet where he meets an old friend and makes a new one, plus gets to feed Wheelie's pets.

Late commenting on this one again (you can thank the government for that) (no, really), but yeah, this isn't bad, as Costa issues go. Admittedly that's a bar so low that you can bum-shuffle over it, and maybe it's just because it comes after the... questionable... Heart of Darkness. But whatever the case, having a comic that's actually entertaining isn't a bad thing at all.

Bringing back Wheelie was certainly a surprise, and at the time I didn't notice the oddness with them changing planets (mostly because I'd not re-read Wheelie's spotlight since it had been released), so it made a nice change. And Rodimus getting the Matrix in his chest was, at least, an attempt to do something with Rodimus getting the Matrix, and amuses me because it's basically there to plug a hole.

It's not the greatest issue of Transformers either, but it's entertaining, which is something, and shows that Costa is clearly more comfortable writing this sort of thing than the "political intrigue" stories that he's been trying to write. And this also feels like there's some sort of momentum now, where for most of his run it just feels like nothing was going anywhere of note. So it'll be interesting to see if he can keep this up until the end...

I do remember an interview with Barber a few years ago where he said he never intended to become Mr Continuity Fixer, it just somehow ended up happening.

I quite like it. Because it uses the mistakes to tell stories, like a No-Prize on a massive scale, rather than just "oh, and actually Ian got his jacket from Dan" corrections.

Now, whether the stories were all good is a different matter, but I always got the feeling that he was putting effort in, and I appreciated that.

Er, aside from that, this issue was okay. Which is good by comparison.
