Snow Fun is quite funny. I like it.

IIRC this strip is the first instance of 'Transformers feel the cold' that we'll see a lot of in Earthforce (there's a later story where Wheeljack sits watch outside the base with a heater). Considering they were happy to fly about though space in Dark Star, it seems odd how - all of a sudden - Transformers begin moaning about how cold it is in Canada...

That's (potentially) quite good science. You lose heat on Earth either by conduction, convection or radiation. The first two don't apply in space so it would actually take a while to cool down. In fact if the Transformers in Dark Star were near the light of a sun they might even get too warm. So I assume Cybertronians cope well will heat transference via radiation but are less good at dealing with atmospheric temperature extremes.

I like Snow Fun as a bit of fun, but then I came to it years and years after the comic was dead, without having to read G.I. Slow Boring The Transformers with it. This is a strip that was clearly written in the knowledge the US reprints would do the heavy drama/action lifting that issue and when you don't have them, OOOFF.

The 'CENSORED!' panel is the exact point at which the once-mighty TFUK strip jumped the shark. It's a slow ride to oblivion from here on in.

Gold Head Destro turned up in the last GI Joe UK collectors comic IIRC. For a couple of panels at least. It was the first part of the Cobra Civil War. They left it on a cliffhanger IIRC!

It’s a nice touch that the cop would assume Bumblebee belonged to one of the protestors since Bumblebee appears to be a Volkswagen Beetle.

I have the issue of “GI Joe” the space shuttle story is from, and IIRC it has good art by Ron Wagner and a surprisingly effective FRED-VII-as-Cobra-Commander.

Destro’s “Iron Grenadier” look. I guess he decided to stop wearing the mask handed down through the generations and make his own?
