Transformation 229: New Avengers

This week it's one of my favourite stories of the era, as we discover the new Mayhems, learn of the self doubt of Needlenose and remember when Spinister was the smart one.

Plus! The start of the Getaway doesn't get away joke.

Special Gest Star: Jimmy Tarbuck.

It's all in my look at: The Hunting Party!

Why is it the lesser stories that attract the most comments? That said, last week got a lot of comments and I rather like that one (mind you, most of those comments weren't about the story itself).
Anyway, in the interest of somebody saying something, I shall just mention that I agree that this one is tremendous.

Because generally speaking, the good stories have been discussed to death.
Everybody who had something to say about them, already spoke their mind about them.
And the same goes for the really really bad ones.
The middle of the road ones fall through the cracks, so those ends up being the ones we talk more about.

or when a much vaunted story doesnt really live up to its reputation ( Target 2006)

i suspect a large part of it is I was ill the two days before this went up and away for the two days afterwards so I've not been on social media whoring it as much as usual.

Now I recall that this story was one of the few that later appeared in glorious colour in the 1992 annual but if memory serves me right was missed out when the Carnivac and Chums saga was reprinted (in colour) in what I think was the last ever Special and thus the last ever Marvel UK TF issue!

Pretty much.
There is this ...thing http://tfwiki.net/wiki/The_Official_Transformers:_Generation_2_Annual
But that's not Marvel in any way shape or form,
and it just occupies its own weird space.
Much like the UK G2 comics, which are strictly speaking Marvel comics, but not marvel UK.

In the interests of adding more comments, I will say that Target 2006 lived up to my expectations and really brought Transformers UK into focus.
Unfortunately these black and white strips just feel out of place next to the (inferior?) US colour stories. If this had just been a UK only black and white mag it would have felt more legit. Btw Stuart, don't stop relaying news about UK related content, this is one of the TF few place's I still frequent.

The G2 Annual is an item of astounding amazement!

The UK G2 comics are a case of different companies getting the licence in different territories and often this includes the right to reprint what had already been produced. Other examples include Fleetway Editions (I think) doing the UK Toxic Crusaders with some Marvel US material. A bizarre case is Masters of the Universe where it seems the DC and Marvel US material was reprinted by each other's UK branch or licencee.

I'll be going for another couple of years at least. :)
