Twas the week before Christmas, and all through the comic, not a thing was stiring, except the Predacons being ass whupped by the Dinobots.

All to be found in my look at issue 136!

Happy holidays to everyone reading, try not to have too much high grade Nucleon to drink.

We were watching an episode of the 70's Spider-Man TV show. Our TV exploded. We had to get an ancient black and white one out of the loft to watch the end.

That is the amazing story.

No one was hurt (carrying on watching Spider-Man afterwards would have been seriously skewed priorities) and the screen just impoded with a fsssssssssssssssssssssst noise.

Not terribly exciting really.

At the risk of prempting your final (?) post, I first read the main story in the 1992 Summer Special. It was a shock in itself to get a complete story for a change but it didn't include the annual tale (instead Victory! got another truncated outing) so there was still something missing. Oddly the special's layout would have made perfect sense for including What's In A Name? between the two parts.

You're right about the lack of a follow-up though here events in the short to medium tem were beyond Furman's control for years with the Ark Autobots in space for fifty + issues then almost immediately after that both Divebomb and Swoop die in the Underbase Saga so there wasn't much time to get another round in. By the time of Earthforce this would have been ancient history and Marvel probably expected most of the readership to have turned over. (Now if they'd thought it through in advance and used Grudge Match! as one of the reprints they could have easily gone back to it afresh much as they did with Straxus.)

Yeah, it's easy to see why it didn't happen, but it's still annoying because dropped plot threads are going to develop into one of Furman's main weaknesses as a writer.

I have a feeling without looking that the '92 special is one of the few I don't have (though when I get there I'll say "This happened"), I'm missing a few of the very final ones as they're blooming expensive.

The Christmas quiz is now up and can be seen in the blog post above this one!

I'm having a hugely Christmassy Christmas this year. Lots of TV and film watching, hats, jumpers and glitter.

Trouserless Duros supports my theory that futuristic people dress provocatively by present-day standards. :-)
