This week, a bunch of rioters marching in the capitol in January?

What science fiction.

Because they have no respect for the dodgy politician trying to take charge of them.

All this and goblin Arcee in my iook at Robots in Disguise issue 12!

(I do own that third party Prowl design. Cough.)

Honestly I thought Barber was headed in the direction that Prowl was gonna become the next Sentinel/Zeta Prime-type guy with that last page and present another option for leadership as opposed to Bumblebee. It does seem a little reminiscent of that page in Megs Origin of Sentinel decked out in his Apex Armor.

Also sad that Barber (or anyone) never did anything with Squawkbox.

Right, this is more like it. By which I am of course referring to me, and my somewhat tardy comment for this issue.

But this issue's also a good one, too. I never thought (before this point in time, anyway) that I'd ever feel sorry for Starscream, but somehow Barber manages it in this issue. Obviously he's still out for himself, but that speech to his ex-fellow 'Cons feels like it could've been a turning point, but it wasn't. And you can't not feel that.

As to the main thrust of this story, my immediate concern, as I said last time, was the return of Megatron, and what impact that was going to have on this story. If nothing else, at the very least Megatron doesn't come straight in, take names and charge, and bend the entire story around him (that is, yes, yet to come). Sure, there's still the feeling that he somehow isn't ever on the back foot, but with Megatron captive at the end of the issue it does at least look like his inevitable return to power (or what seemed like it at the time) is going to be an interesting one.

It's also good to see Bumblebee finally developing and using a brain, too. It's just a shame he's not aware that he's already too late. But again, this is something that's only obvious with hindsight, and just goes to show how well-written this is.

So first time around, this didn't alleviate my concerns about Megatron's return - but it did at least start making it seem like it was going to be more interesting than I was fearing. And re-reading it, it's just a good building up of the tension before everything blows, real soon now...
